Cardmaking, Planning

HEMA Haul

I’ve done quite a bit of shopping lately and this is the first of a couple of hauls I’ll be showing you.

I heard of HEMA last year and loved some of their items. I was annoyed to discover it after I went on holiday to Bruges (where they have a store) and thus missed the chance to go visit the store.

If you haven’t heard of it, HEMA sell just about everything including some fantastic stationery and last week I not only discovered that they have a UK website but also shops in London. I’m not planning on going to London for a couple of weeks so decided to place an order online.

Shipping was a flat rate of £4 which is pretty reasonable considering it arrived pretty quickly via a proper delivery company instead of just being sent through Royal Mail.

The to do pad is about A5 size which is perfect for sitting on my desk and at 100 pages it’ll last quite some time. The paper is 90gsm and of good quality. For only £2.50 this is great value. The sticky note packs were £2 each and again, great value (and yes that is another to do list – I just love them).

Another thing I’m a sucker for is washi tape. The kraft tape was £2 a pack and is just paper tape but the designs are so cute I don’t mind. The blue washi at the back was £1 for the three which again is fantastic value. It’s a bit more shiny than normal washi and seems of a good quality. One is plain, one has a chevron design and the other says ‘hello sunshine’.

The stamp set was £2.50 and has a range  of sayings on there including ‘made with love’, ‘love you’ and ‘things to do’ and will be perfect for everything from cardmaking to planning. I’ve had a play with both the stamp and the ink and they seem of good quality. The gold stickers were £1, as was the snail mail set which is two envelopes, 2 postcards, 2 tags, 2 cards, 2 stickers and 2 strings. I’ve no idea what I’m going to use it for but I’m looking forward to having a play with it.

The blue fineliner was 75p, has a 0.38 tip and is really nice to write with. I wanted to try one to check out the quality and I’ll definitely add more when I’m next in London.

I’ve been using it in my diary and as you can see, it writes really well.

All of the above cost just over £20 which is a great little haul. My only complaint with the order was how it was packaged… it was packed in a box with no packaging at all so it was just left to roll around in there. Thankfully nothing was too roughed up but it would concern me a little about future orders.

Have you ever been to HEMA?

Em x
