My Little Box November Review
In what is potentially my last box before Christmas (my boxes do tend to come in the third week of the month) I was expecting lots of Christmas prep goodies.
I opened the November box like an eager little beaver and was excited to see a lovely tin this month instead of the usual cardboard box. What was inside didn’t excite me as much sadly…
There was a bit of a food theme here this month – with an apron and sticker set for food jars. The apron might come in handy as I don’t already own one but the stickers, as amusing as they are, probably won’t get used sadly.
In terms of beauty products this month I received these two skincare numbers and some fragrance.
This My Little Beauty hand cream is lovely. It’s rich without being too oily and does leave my skin feeling nice and smooth – even Ed commented on how soft my hands were! I do have quite bad dry skin at the moment thanks to the weather and climbing and while my hands were soft on the outside of the hands, this wasn’t quite moisturising enough for the flaky skin on the insides.
I was a little weary of the Bliss Face Wash. Not just because I’m still not using traditional face washes, but because it’s an exfoliator too. I exfoliate my face once a week and would worry about using something like this daily. I’ve found in the past if I’ve used anything ‘harsh’ like anti acne products or exfoliators daily it has the opposite effect on my skin and just aggravates it. In fact while I liked this (despite the fact it didn’t really foam at all), and my skin did feel clean and soft afterwards after one use I had a break out. This may be a coincidence but was enough to make me not use it again.
I was excited to try this perfume as I love Yves Rocher products but unfortunately I was really disappointed with this. This is a mix of vanilla, patchouli and iris but it just reminds me of scents like Opium or Rive Gauche – not because it particularly smells like them but because it’s just as overpowering as them. The scent itself isn’t all that bad… from a distance… but I just couldn’t see myself wearing it without feeling like my grandma.
Sadly this wasn’t the box I was expecting. The theme was a nice idea but not at all festive like I’d hoped. The fact that the products (aside from the hand cream) were a let down didn’t really help too much. Now I’m on countdown to December’s box!
