My Little Box December Review
Subscription boxes are great for receiving presents all year round. At Christmas, these presents get even better with bumper boxes!
After the disappointment of last month’s box it was with trepidation that I opened December’s box. I had told myself that if this month’s box was a bit pants I would be cancelling this and looking for a different lifestyle subscription box.
Thankfully, I haven’t had to do that…
I was really happy to open this little lot. My instant thoughts were a that this was a nice mix of lifestyle and beauty products – exactly the reason I signed up to this box many months ago.
The make up bag is very cute although I’m accumulating a huge amount of toiletry and make up bags at the moment. It’s not the greatest quality but it’ll go nicely in my work bag or something.
I love Rituals products and was happy to see this Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk. It feels really nice on the skin and not at all greasy thanks to this being a whipped body cream. The scent is strong but not overpowering and I’d definitely buy this. My only problem with finding great body lotions in subscription boxes is the fact I always seem to have more body lotions than anything else toiletry wise and so never need to buy any. It doesn’t help that I rarely get round to using it (probably because a lot of the ones I own are greasy but I don’t want to bin them) but I reckon even if I used moisturiser daily I still wouldn’t need to buy any more until 2017. Seriously.
The little tin of Kusmi tea is a really nice idea. Thankfully I own a teapot to try this with and it’s really tasty tea! I’m not a big fan normally of tea but between this and some loose tea Ed received for Christmas I’m getting back into it again.
These gloves are so pretty and really comfy. My only annoyance is it’s not really been the weather to wear them yet!
I was very excited to receive my first ever NARS product – blush in Orgasm! It’s a really nice product and a colour that will suit me I’m sure. I normally go for more pinkier colours but I think this is probably a more mature colour for me. I haven’t tried this yet as I have a nearly new UD blusher on the go, plus a Bare Minerals one to try so I’d rather save this to use later.
These nail colours are really nice and I couldn’t resist using the gold one straight away. They seem to be of a decent quality and one coat of the gold glitter gave me enough coverage to not need a second coat. It also lasted a few days which is unheard of for me and regular nail polish. I haven’t tried the blue but after swatching it seems of a similar quality. I might try using it with a gel base and top coat to get the most out of it.
While there weren’t many items I instantly used on opening of the box I was really happy with the selection. There was a great Christmassy nail colour, a high quality piece of make up, some great skincare and three lifestyle items I would happily use. This box was definitely a win!
