Another empties post and a chance to show you some a couple of products I never reviewed when I received them.
No make up this month and while pondering how long my make up was lasting me I came to the realisation that I very rarely actually run out of anything. Foundation every couple of months and that’s it really. I obviously replace mascara and eyebrow mascara regularly but other than that I don’t ever seem to need anything. From a hygiene point of view maybe I should have a bit of a clear out this month?
Anyway, on to this month’s actual empties…Liz Earle Eyebright. I’m fairly certain I’ve spoken about this on the blog before and how much I love to use it as a cooling eye mask either on an evening before bed or first thing to help my eyes wake up. I’ve even got the other half on to it! This month I tried it as an eye make up remover as the drugstore stuff (Nivea) I was using was useless on my Estee Lauder Doublewear Mascara and it worked amazingly! For something so soothing and gentle it packs a punch when it needs to. It’s not amazing on my waterproof eyeliner but as I rarely wear it I’m not too bothered.
Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Hair Shampoo. I talked about dry hair shampoos last month and my quest to find a decent drug store offering. This falls into the ‘okay’ category. It seems to do the job fairly well but I need a decent amount and it can make my hair go a bit knotty. As a side note, I have the shampoo in this range and it’s amazing. And cheap. Win.
Estee Lauder Make Up Brush Cleanser. My thoughts on this haven’t really changed since my original review of it which you can find here. It’s not that great, especially for the money, and I won’t be repurchasing. Bonus: the spray bit stopped working about 3/4 of the way through the bottle.
L’Occitane Hand Cream. My favourite hand cream ever. This one in particular isn’t at all greasy and has no strong smell. While a nice scent doesn’t bother me (in fact the one I’m using at the moment is the Jasmin Immortelle Neroli) it does bother some so it’s worth nothing that this is the most neutral I’ve come across.
BB Straight Blow Dry Creme. I’ve repurchased this and I’m very happy to see they’ve changed the lid to a proper cap now. Now I’m able to blow dry my hair straight using my GHD dryer I’m really starting to rely on this stuff to tame my hair whilst drying. Particularly when it comes to frizz, I can tell the difference when I don’t use it.
Have you tried any of this month’s empties? Let me know in the comments below!
