The Weekend Review: The Balm Voyage Travel Palette
I’ve had a few The Balm items in various beauty boxes but they’ve been a bit small/the colours haven’t quite suited me so I haven’t been able to really form too much of an opinion before.
I stumbled across a proper stand in Debenhams last year and fell in love with their beautiful palettes but didn’t have a reason to get one. With quite a few holidays/mini breaks coming up this summer I finally realised I could justify getting one. After a bit of research on various websites, I settled on the Voyage palette.I found the best price for it on Feel Unique plus I used a voucher code (here’s my referral link if you’d like a code too) so I got this for £25.50. Pretty good considering how much stuff you get it in it.
9 eyeshadows, 1 highlighter/face powder, 1 bronzer, 2 blushes and 2 lip and cheek colours. It’ll certainly help me streamline my packing! The packaging feels really sturdy and I like the little ‘cheat sheet’ that covers up the lip colours so they don’t get powder flecks in them. While the pans don’t fit snugly in the gaps (which kind of annoys me) they don’t feel in any way loose so it shouldn’t be an issue.
I’ve given this one trial run so far and really like it. The powders are so pigmented and blend really nicely, it’s easy to create some nice eye looks. I’m not 100% convinced about the highlighter in terms of how much highlighting it actually does, but I’ll give it another few goes before writing it off completely. I haven’t tried the bronzer yet but the blushes again are really nice and pigmented. The lip and cheek creams are very creamy and feel nice on the skin (I only use them on the lips as cheek creams break me out) though they don’t last that long. The Bem-Vindo is more my colour, I can just about get away with it – any pinker and it would have been too pink for my colouring.
Overall I’m really happy with this palette. I definitely think I’ll be trying more The Balm in future (though probably not another palette, not sure I can justify a second!).
