Look Fantastic June Review
Receiving my Look Fantastic box is definitely one of the highlights of the month!
I love getting surprise presents and the fact that I can’t see what I’m getting until it actually arrives.
This month it was the Jet Setter box so I was looking forward to lots of goodies to take on my travels.I must admit I was slightly disappointed when I opened the box as there were two items I knew I wouldn’t use – the self tan oil and teeth whitening strips. I was also a bit disappointed to see yet another Korres showergel as I’ve got quite a pile of these now. However, on reflection I liked the range of different products in the box and they would have all been ideal to take on holiday.
First up is the Dead Sea Spa Magic BB Cream and while I love this brand I was excited to try yet another BB cream that would be orange, have no staying power and just be generally rubbish. Boy was I wrong. This stuff is fantastic. I was wearing it on holiday on days I didn’t want to be under thick foundation and I really liked it on my skin. The colour did actually adapt to my skin tone, although it wasn’t that dark to begin with:It applies really nicely to the face and gives my skin a nice lift – a little bit of colour and coverage without feeling heavy on my skin or looking cakey at all. It has some great staying power too and even wearing this on a long day travelling home from Hamburg it still looked decent at 1am. I can’t recommend this enough and will absolutely be buying more. It’s not stocked on Look Fantastic it seems but I found it here for £16.44 for 50ml which I think is really good value (less than half the price of my foundation!)
Next is the Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing by Naobay and I really like the feel and scent of this. I didn’t take it on holiday as I had something a bit more smaller and compact to take but I’ve been using it at home and like it a lot. I’ve had no dryness on my face at all while using and it provides a decent base for my make up. This is £32.95 for 50ml so it’s inline with what I’d pay for a moisturiser. It’s tempting the next time I need a new moisuriser.
Finally from the facial skincare trio is the Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream and I did take this on holiday. I noticed a difference, particularly with make up application when I was using it. It tended to settle less in the lines around my eye when I was using it daily. However, this is £49 for 15ml so it’s not cheap. I haven’t been using it long enough to say I can see any reduction in my dark circles. If I did, it would be worth the money and so the jury’s still out on this one.
I’m going to skip past the Tan Organic Self Tan Oil as I didn’t use it (tanning ain’t my thing).
The Korres Showergel I haven’t used yet, but have smelled and as usual, it smells divine. You know you’re getting a good showergel with Korres so I can’t complain too much.
Finally is the Cowshed Moisturising Hand Cream and I wasn’t too impressed with this. It’s a bit too oily for me and left my hands feeling like they needed a wash! I’m really particular about hand creams and this has kind of put me off using it again so it got stashed away in my ‘holiday minis’ box.
Definitely a mixed bag again this month but I’m so grateful to it for the BB Cream. Knowing I’ve got a definite repurchase makes the box totally worthwhile. I’m still desperate for some more make up though… please, Look Fantastic?!
