Today I’ve got another round of the previous months empties.
I’ve got a nice mix to talk about – although one or two I’ve chatted about before.
First up I’m going to talk about the two make up items, as I’ve covered them off here before. Stila Stay All Day Foundation and Estee Lauder Doublewear Mascara. The foundation has been repurchased as although not perfect it’s the best coverage foundation I’ve found that isn’t completely matte and drying. I am keeping an eye on though it as it’s definitely caking more than it used to so I may be switching it out for something a little more hydrating soon (if you have any tips, please let me know!)
The mascara ended up in the empties tray a lot quicker than I thought it would and that’s because it dried out. This lasted less than two months for me whereas normally a mascara will last me three months. Given how much I paid for this (read my full review here) I expected it to last me longer. As you will have seen from my No7 Stay Perfect Mascara review I didn’t repurchase the Estee Lauder. I was a little ‘meh’ about it and the drying out was the final nail in the coffin for it. No more Doublewear mascara purchases for me!
Next up are the two skincare items for this month – Sanctuary Face Exfoliator and Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser. The Sanctuary exfoliator was a surprisingly good find. I must have got it as part of a gift set once upon a time and just found it in my beauty stash and ended up loving it. It’s rough on my skin without drying it out at all thanks to the oils in it and I’ll definitely be repurchasing once my new Liz Earle Exfoliator runs out along with possibly some more skincare in the range (as I haven’t really tried enough of it).
Speaking of Liz Earle and onto the moisturiser. I reviewed this back in January so you can see how long it lasted me which is really impressive. This has been repurchased as it gives me just the right balance of moisture without being an oily mess, with some anti ageing goodies thrown in too. I really can’t recommend this enough. Last up is the Crabtree and Evelyn Moisturiser and this was another great surprise that I found in among my beauty stash. The pump is great for quick application and means you can regulate how much you use (I have a tendency to squeeze too much out if it’s a tube). The scent is subtle and nice, the texture lovely and it is a great moisturiser. It left my skin nicely moisturised all day without being too greasy. I couldn’t find the Himalayan Blue variety anywhere so fear it’s discontinued but when I eventually run out of body lotion I’ll be taking a look at Crabtree and Evelyn for sure.
Not a bad little selection this month and a couple of nice stash finds. As I’m working my way through my beauty stash I’m running out of little finds but at least that means I’m actually making my way through the backlog of beauty products I have! Are any of this month’s empties favourites of yours? Let me know in the comments below!
