Only a few products in this month’s empties basket but a couple of new bits to talk about.
The sad news this month is nothing in the basket has be repurchased, nor am I planning to repurchase them really. I wouldn’t say that any of these items are ‘bad’ but I’ve either fallen out of love, or not been so excited by them to want to repurchase. First up is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. This is a lovely and rich cleansing balm, that I generally used on an evening. It requires a muslim cloth to remove and while this is a rich balm, your skin doesn’t feel overly oily after use. Had I not tried the Eve Lom Morningtime Cleanser I probably would have loved this but the Eve Lom just leaves my skin with a gorgeous feeling of softness that I actually just want to stroke my face after use (weird, I know). The Eve Lom is also the same price, for 25% more than the Elemis version. However, were I a little more concerned about fine lines and wrinkles I would probably stick with the Elemis because it has the extra anti ageing goodies that sadly the Eve Lom version doesn’t. As it stands, I just want a rich make up remover that makes my skin feel nice and supplier and I get that with the Eve Lom.
Next up is the Bare Minerals BB Cream which I have featured here before. This is my second bottle but I haven’t repurchased as instead I’ve decided to try the Pupa BB and Primer. While I liked this primer towards the end it seemed to cling to any dry bits I had on my face and I had exactly the same issue as last time where the pump couldn’t get anymore product out (making you think it was empty) while there was still around a third of the product left.
Onto some haircare and a quick mention of the GHD Heat Protect Spray that I received with my hairdryer and straightener pack. My thoughts on this haven’t changed really – it’s okay but not worth the £14 price point.
Finally my first empty perfume of 2016 and this is YSL Manifesto. This was my favourite fragrance for a long time but as the days got warmer it just felt a little too strong for daytime use. Perhaps I’ll repurchase in Winter if it’s on offer (because £70 for a bottle of perfume…)
