Mother’s Day Cards (& More!)
Some family orientated cards today!
As Mother’s Day has now gone past I can share the cards I made this year!
This was of course made using the February Planner Society goodies (full review coming soon!) I also pulled out my pretty paper flowers, as they matched the flowers on the die cut almost perfectly! I’ve found the best (and cheapest) place to get good quality paper flowers is Country Baskets. That place is an expensive trip every time I go!
The second card was in a similar style, just with the addition of some enamel dots from Recollections. I just love how versatile the die cuts I get in the kit are.
The paper doilies I use are from Dovecraft. They’re great to use for a bit of extra girlyness on a card! These wooden letters are something I frequently reach for. They’re just so handy when I don’t have a sentiment or topper to use.
Continuing with family I thought I’d also share some other recent makes.
My dad loves fishing but I did a fishing themed card for his birthday last year so I needed another idea. He also loves Leeds United, so using the team colours I whipped up this card. I used my favourite Papermania cardstock pack to make the shirt and self adhesive vinyl cut with my Silhouette for the sentiment. I should definitely use this vinyl more for cards, it’s so easy to make personalised sentiments this way. The paper used on the background is from a My Mind’s Eye pack – Now and Then.
Finally, a birthday card for my mum to complete the set!
I made this card as part of my ‘using up my craft stash‘ challenge. This card was pulled together using long forgotten goodies tucked away in my craft drawers. The papers and topper are all From Me To You, and I just pulled out some ribbon and a glitter sentiment from Anita’s. The textured cardstock was just from my offcuts box and the letters are from My Mind’s Eye.
I really love how this card came together. I look forward to digging out more 3d toppers and making some similar cards soon.
