Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Smudge Out Mascara Review
I love pandas
If you’ve seen my Etsy shop, you’ll have noticed this too! Knowing this and my love for Korean beauty, my other half picked up an awesome birthday gift for me this year. Panda’s Dream Smudge Out Mascara, by Tony Moly. I took one look at it and knew it ticked all the boxes for an awesome present!
Probably without realising, he managed to pick up a mascara that looked cute and was Korean but is also smudge proof! Thanks to my oily lids and contact lenses, I absolutely need smudge proof mascara.
The mascara
You can find this over on Amazon but I’ve also seen it around some Ebay shops too. The mascara is 10g and comes in super cute packaging with the ‘lid’ actually a panda!
It comes in two varieties – volume or long lash. I have the volume version.
The brush
The brush on the volume version is long and straight. On the long lash, it’s curved as you’d expect.
The fine bristles on this really help to catch all the lashes and coat them all.
The product isn’t gloopy at all and is very easy to use. It coats my lashes nicely without leaving them looking spidery. While sometimes this style of brush can lead to too much product on your lashes, I find it works well here and I don’t get that problem.
After application my eyes look brighter and more awake. There’s definitely some added volume there. While this isn’t the long lash version, they definitely look a little longer. If you like a bit of curl to your lashes though this probably isn’t the mascara for you. This mascara opens up the lashes but there’s no curling here at all. You may have more success with the long lash version for that, with it’s curved brush.
Actually smudge proof?
I wear this all day and all night and never have to worry about panda eyes. I’m sure there’s a joke in there about a panda mascara and having panda eyes! This doesn’t budge throughout the day at all and I’m super impressed. It would be really easy for this mascara just to be all about the cute and not actually any good but the opposite is true here.
Even though it doesn’t budge it’s easy to remove with a waterproof eye make up remover. I use my Sephora one and have had no issues. It comes off in small bits with the eye make up remover and then my first cleanse just washes any residue away.
Repurchase worthy?
Absolutely. I love this mascara. It makes my lashes look lovely all day long and isn’t a pain to remove. It’s pretty inexpensive at around £10 including postage and it looks super cute in my make up tray. What more could I want?
Items like this definitely disprove that just because the packaging is cute the product inside is pretty poor. I used to go for boring looking products as they tended to be of a higher quality. When it comes to Korean products though, there’s so many pretty looking but great quality products!
This is now the second item in the Panda’s Dream range that I’ve tried and I’m eager to try more. If you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments below!
